Aikido training is a challenging but rewarding endeavor which will create positive change in your life! However, it requires hard work and commitment, both to training and to the customs and etiquette of the art. All students who are willing to commit to training are welcome to join Raleigh Aikikai. Therefore, it is important for a new student to get a sense of what will be expected prior to enrolling.
Prospective new students must observe at least one class prior to acceptance for enrollment into the dojo.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of class as to not disrupt the flow of class while it is in progress.
We require observance of class and discussion with the chief instructor as part of consideration for membership.
Observation and discussion are important elements to help determine whether training in a traditional martial arts school such as Raleigh Aikikai is right for you.

No appointment is necessary to observe class. However, please check our class schedule HERE to verify the scheduled time of the class that you wish to observe. Please note: currently, only the Monday and Wednesday classes are open for observation. Once class has completed, the instructor will be happy to answer any questions you may have as well as discuss our membership and monthly dues requirements. It is always best to come to the dojo in person to have any questions answered that you may have.
